Trenčín Region has an advantageous location, being served by major road and railway routes that support the development of industry and agriculture.

Region for tourists:


The line of castles built to protect the western borders of the Hungarian kingdom: Tematín, Čachtice, Beckov, Sivý Kameň, Považský hrad, Vršatec. The dominating landmark of the whole Považie area is the Trenčín Castle (11th century). Bojnice Castle (12th century) is one of the most visited castles in Slovakia, residence reconstructed at the beginning of 20th century on the model of the French castle Pierrefont.
Regional spas: Trenčianske Teplice, Bojnice and Nimnica.
Sports: In summer, the open-air swimming pools and reservoirs (Dubník, Nitrianske Rudno, Zelená voda) are popular as well as the thermal pools in Chalmová and Bánovce nad Bebravou. The Považie cycling route is connected to the International Danube cycling route. In winter, the local ski resorts: Kálnica, Remata, Lysá pod Makytou, Homôlka, Veľká Javorina, Bezovec, Čertov, Javorník, Ráztoka and Kľak.

Region belongs to the strongest economic regions of Slovakia. It has an industrial-agriculture character.

  • Human resources development, education and training of employees and management, training of unemployed people and complex service of their employment formation
